My 4 month old

I absolutely love the stage that Ellie is in right now! She is so fun! She is 13 lbs 12 oz and is 24 1/4 inches long. She always gives the cutest gummy smiles, especially when I go pick her up from a nap or get her in the morning. However, When I took these pictures of Ellie on her 4 month birthday, she was very grouchy. And she had been for the past few days. It was rough for her and rough for me! I thought she might be teething, but she was barely 4 months old so I didn't think that was it. But luckily it was! She got a tooth on Jan 24 and is now back to her happy self!
She is VERY interested in everything around her. The other day I set her down on her blanket with some toys and when I finished doing the dishes she was turned around the other way with both her socks off and a toy and her toes in her hands.
She insists on sitting up straight all the time. She does not like to be leaning back on a pillow or against someone's stomach while they're holding her. Straight up like a big girl only. She also Loves to stand and refuses to bend her legs sometimes so we can't sit her down. This baby of mine is very independent.
She lets out the cutest squeals and giggles when she's playing. Her favorite toy right now is her feet... makes it easy for me! And sometimes a book that crackles when she bites it.
It was very hard to get her to smile and look at the camera for these pictures... either she was eating her elephant or crying. Probably due to the tooth that would appear 4 days after I took these pictures. But she's cute even while crying!
I read to her every day and I am hoping that she'll love books just as much as I do. It seems as though she just might! As of now, she hits the pages while I'm reading and then eats the book when I'm done. That's love right?
Every single thing she holds goes into her mouth and now that she has a tooth she can rip into things pretty well. She has ripped a hole in some of her things from biting!
At her 4 month appointment, Dr larsen said we could start her on some food! Which is awesome because she is so interested in what we're eating and always tries to grab it. The other day, Josh was eating some chocolate cake at the cub scout Blue and Gold Banquet (he's the Cub Master) and she reached out and grabbed a huge chunk of it! She wouldn't let go for him to clean it off either.
It has taken her about two weeks but now she actually eats something and I don't feel like I'm just moving the cereal from the bowl to her face and bib.
She got mad until she could feed herself. This girl...

She still wakes up during the night at least twice and wants to stay awake and party. We're working on that and hopefully she'll love sleep just as much as her mom and dad do soon! She is still a very happy baby and if she gets a little bit grouchy I just lay her down, and instantly her feet go up to her mouth and she plays with her toes.
