Christmas 2 0 0 9

This Christmas break was wonderful. It was really good to relax after finals, play games, eat tons of food, and be with family.  As soon as I finished up my finals, Josh I headed to Christmas City USA (aka Rupert).  Cory, Alyssa, little Josh, Brad, Marianne, Josh & I were able to make it there in time to watch Kevin play in a basketball game.  He played great and I bet he was thrilled to see/hear his fan section triple in size. He also managed to shatter the backboard at our church one day during a family basketball game.

Shattering backboards at 16. What will he do next?  He also signed several of the larger pieces and gave each of us one.  My piece is proudly sitting on my shelf in my apartment as we speak.

I've really been missing all my family and it was so fun to all be crammed in the house together once again.  Almost everyone (minus Erik, Dawn, & Elizabeth-missed you guys!) was there so, we did what my family always does when we're together, play games, laugh, eat, watch movies, be goofy, and just enjoy being with each other. It was wonderful.

It was also very exciting to finally meet this little guy! Beau is such a cute little guy! I loved holding him.  Josh was excited to meet his new cousin as well.  They wouldn't stop staring at each other!

I also was able to spend some time with the Green's during the break.  Josh's niece Lucy met me at the door and gave me a big hug, and Halie soon followed.  I love those girls! We went snowmobiling one day, and since I've never been, I was very excited/nervous. It was soooo fun! We also went sledding, played in the snow, played games, and enjoyed their jacuzzi.  However, one night we did NOT enjoy the jacuzzi.  It smelt a little funky one day, but we decided it was still ok to get in.  After sitting in if for a couple hours, we decided that it was a little too smelly for us, and we should clean it out in the morning.  The next day we did, and it was way dirtier than we thought. We even found a little surprise in the filters...  Thinking back on that, we probably shouldn't have even put our feet in.  That's one thing I will NEVER do again. Sadly, this is the only picture I have from the Green's, and it only has half of Halie's head.

It was definitely hard to go back to school after such a wonderful break.

d a d

As I was looking through my pictures today, I realized (for the millionth time) what a hilarious father I have.  Here are some of his most recent moments...

Here he is in a hat I made. I showed it to him, he tried it on, then posed all within 5 seconds.

For some strange reason, Kevin, Brad, and Marianne like playing poker. Not for money or anything, but just because they think its fun? Anyway, Kev got this poker set for his birthday from BMJ and they wanted to play during christmas break. Dad, upon hearing this, disappeared for a few minutes. When he came back, he was in his "poker gear".  He did have the sunglasses on, but he couldn't see, so he got out his old LADY reading glasses which come from costco in a three pack. haha just another funny thing he does...

Kevin and I got Dad a snuggie for Christmas. Its a funny gift for a funny man.  I'm pretty sure it was his favorite gift... right Dad?

Not only is my Dad hilarious, but he has also instilled in me a love for games, making up absurd words and other sayings (HECKLE FRECKLE!), taught me how to work, build things, and how to be a better person.  I love going to the Acequia 2nd ward and seeing him sitting on the stand as a member of the bishopric.  Not only is it fun to make goofy faces at him, or catch him dosing off, but it reminds me that he is a worthy priesthood holder, is doing what is right, and is carrying out his responsibilities faithfully.  He has also instilled in me a love for our ancestors/genealogy.  Somehow, he got a hold of some phone book pages or something in Germany and wrote letters to all of the Jurgensmeiers there to see if we were related.  Because of this, I have a friend in Germany named Sandra Jurgensmeier, who has started to work on her family history as well.  She is finding out a lot of things about her ancestors that she might not of if it were not for Dad.  So, Dad, thanks for being so goofy, fun, loving, and wonderful. I love you.

laundry room 2 Karee 0

Today I decided to be productive, so I did my laundry.  I'm guessing that the reason why I had so much in the first place was because I wanted to wash everything that my swimming suit (which was exposed to a japuzzi aka a jacuzzi which was pooped in by a small child) might have touched.  I sorted my clothes, grabbed my bag of quarters, and headed to the laundry room across the apartment complex.
As I started adding my quarters to a washing machine, I realized that I picked the only washer in the whole place that requires extra quarters for a "special" extra rinse.  I tried to get my money back, but it wouldn't let me.  Laundry room scores one.  I did my other load, in a regular machine, and counted my quarters.  I only had 4 left, which is just enough for a dryer.  As soon as my wash was done, I crammed both loads into the dryer.  I was not going to go find more quarters for two dryers... Alas, another score for the laundry room.  45 minutes later, I went to get my clean, warm clothes out of the dryer.  What did I find?  Clean, semi-dried clothes which are now hanging/laying all over my bedroom.  You win laundry room, you win.
