Here he is in a hat I made. I showed it to him, he tried it on, then posed all within 5 seconds.
For some strange reason, Kevin, Brad, and Marianne like playing poker. Not for money or anything, but just because they think its fun? Anyway, Kev got this poker set for his birthday from BMJ and they wanted to play during christmas break. Dad, upon hearing this, disappeared for a few minutes. When he came back, he was in his "poker gear". He did have the sunglasses on, but he couldn't see, so he got out his old LADY reading glasses which come from costco in a three pack. haha just another funny thing he does...
Kevin and I got Dad a snuggie for Christmas. Its a funny gift for a funny man. I'm pretty sure it was his favorite gift... right Dad?
Not only is my Dad hilarious, but he has also instilled in me a love for games, making up absurd words and other sayings (HECKLE FRECKLE!), taught me how to work, build things, and how to be a better person. I love going to the Acequia 2nd ward and seeing him sitting on the stand as a member of the bishopric. Not only is it fun to make goofy faces at him, or catch him dosing off, but it reminds me that he is a worthy priesthood holder, is doing what is right, and is carrying out his responsibilities faithfully. He has also instilled in me a love for our ancestors/genealogy. Somehow, he got a hold of some phone book pages or something in Germany and wrote letters to all of the Jurgensmeiers there to see if we were related. Because of this, I have a friend in Germany named Sandra Jurgensmeier, who has started to work on her family history as well. She is finding out a lot of things about her ancestors that she might not of if it were not for Dad. So, Dad, thanks for being so goofy, fun, loving, and wonderful. I love you.
