Three months

Little Ellie is now three months old! She is becoming more and more fun everyday. 

She smiles and laughs all the time now. When I get her out of her bed from a nap, she's so excited to see me she waves her arms in the air and squeals. Well, usually, unless she woke up angry, then she just cries until I pick her up. 

She's starting to notice herself in the mirror now and she's realized that she has feet now. This leads to a lot of socks coming off in random places. She's also starting to show interest in toys now and she'll grab for things that are near her. Unfortunately, that is usually my hair...

This picture describes three month old Ellie perfectly. She still has crazy hair, which is getting really long! And she absolutely LOVES eating her fingers. She tried to get her thumb, but that wasn't good enough so it was the whole fist for a while. Now, its just her thumb and her pointer finger, which are usually placed in between her gums so she can chomp on them. 

I also learned I have to do a much better job of cleaning her neck. Because she is a slobber queen now it gets pretty stinky under there if its not cleaned! 

She sleeps during the night for 6 hours. I'm hoping that soon it will be longer but 6 is pretty great for now! She wakes up at 6 am ready to party every day.. I guess I have to learn to be more of a morning person! 

Ellie is starting to show her personality more and more as well. She still has trouble going to sleep when something is happening because she wants to be a part of the action; she is pretty stubborn. We love our little Ellie girl! 

What we've been up to lately..

She may look a little crazy, but that's how us Greens get when playing games.

 After I put up the Christmas tree, every time the lights came on she would be totally in love with them. So one afternoon I turned them on and we laid under the tree and read books. 

 And played with the dangling ornaments. 

Here she is one Sunday before church wearing a dress I wore when I was a wee babe. Thanks again to my awesome mom for saving tons of my baby clothes! 

Josh said Ellie could not meet Santa this year because of all the germs and kids sitting on his lap. So instead at our church Christmas party she sat on the Grinch's lap. And I do believe she was the cause of his three sizes too small heart growing.

One Sunday before church she was being a little clingy and only wanting me to hold her and walk around. I needed to finish my Primary lesson and I was getting a little mad at her. I finally got her to sleep and a little while later I went in to check on her and she was so angelic folding her arms, I had to take a picture. I can't stay mad at her for more than a second, we may have some trouble as she gets older disciplining her if she's naughty! 

Crazy lady after a bath! Her hair is hilarious we love it so much! Its starting to get long enough to lay down now and it makes me a little bit sad. 

Our days (and nights) are filled with Ellie and not much else! Josh clears driveways when it snows but other than that we're a happy little family of three hanging out all day! 

Thanksgiving 2013

Since all the family was in town for the wedding, we had a huge family dinner on Thanksgiving. We played lots of new games and we, of course, shot some guns.

I wanted to get some pictures of Ellie with Grandpa Hutchins because he's so big and she's so little. And because he's her Great Grandpa of course.

He, of course, was jealous of her hair : ) he even asked her if he could have some.

We have so much to be thankful for this year, and we're especially grateful for Ellie and the opportunity we have to be her parents! We are so blessed! 

Tony's Wedding

Josh's cousin Tony got married the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. So that meant as many of the Hutchins' family that could come was coming to Midway! We were excited for all of them to meet Ellie, so of course we had to dress her up in her pretty dress for church the Sunday they came. 

I also got to make the flowers for Tony and Lauren, along with Laura, Ray, and Josh. Josh was surprisingly good at wiring and taping flowers. He also made an extra boutonnière that ended up being Tony's in all the pictures at the temple. He made it so professionally you couldn't even tell that it was just an extra one.

Laughing and Smiling

This little baby is the happiest two month old in the world! She laughs at me and smiles when I talk to her in a high pitched voice. I don't know, maybe she just thinks I'm crazy, but I love to make her smile! 

She had her 2 month appointment and weighs 11 lbs and is 22.5 inches long. She also got her first round of shots. It was a very sad day! She was all smiles and was even cooing at the nurse until the nurse jabbed both of her thighs with needles. It made me cry to see her so sad! She got a little fever that night, but is doing fine now. 

She is also figuring out how to actually control her arms and hands. She has been sucking on her thumb hand now and it's really cute. She is also very good at slapping my hand away when I suck her boogies out of her nose. Also, a few days ago when I was changing her diaper, she put her hand down on the diaper once I took her pants off and was scratching at the side trying to undo the diaper. (at least that's what I like to think..) AND the really sad thing is she's really good at pulling my hair now. Like reeaaaally good.

Ellie's first trip to Idaho

At the end of October, one of my friends got married and had her reception in Idaho. We were having amazing weather and Josh desperately needed to finish up his last landscape job, so Ellie and I braved the trip to Rupert all by ourselves! I was a little nervous that she'd wake up screaming and startle me and we'd crash or something, but Ellie is way too nice for that. I fed her, we got in the car, drove to say goodbye to Josh and then she fell asleep and stayed that way until an hour from Rupert. I stopped and fed her, she fell back asleep and we made it without any problems!

Ellie met a lot of family and was such a good baby throughout the entire trip. She met some of my cousins and aunts and uncles as well as my grandparents. The highlight for me, was taking her to my grandparent's house and having them meet her.

She laid in Grandpa's arms, and unfortunately stared at the wall..

When Ellie was laying in grandma's arms and grandma was taking to her, she was just smiling and smiling away. It was the cutest thing!

We tried to get a 4 generations picture, but it was a little rough for the 4 of us. I wasn't looking and then my mom wasn't looking and then grandma wasn't looking and then we all weren't looking... Finally we got a good one though!

I also got to show off my cute baby at the Acequia 2nd ward, and it was her first time at church. She did pretty good, I got my first taste of hanging out in the mother's room with other moms, and I got to show her off to everyone. Of course they all thought she was adorable and everyone commented about her hair.. How could you not? :)

Ellie took naps with both grandma and grandpa! My parents are so cute with her and are the best grandparents!

My parents and I played games until really late Sunday night (um about 11pm... Haha) and we were all exhausted so we went to bed.

We drove back in torrential downpour and then terrible winds, but Ellie slept the whole way. I'd say our first trip to Idaho was a success!
