Ellie's Blessing Day!

On January 5th, Josh blessed Ellie. On Sunday, Mom and I made dinner and cupcakes and Dad played with Ellie until she fell asleep. We were a little worried she would scream and cry throughout the entire blessing because she doesn't particularly like going to church. She's spent the majority of Sundays out in the hallway walking the halls. So, we pulled out all the stops! We let her nap until the last possible second, gave her a lavender scented bath to keep her calm, gave both Grandpas a binkie just in case, and had a bottle ready just in case she needed it right before. But the binkies and bottle were just overkill. She was absolutely perfect.

Josh did a great job and he told me that Ellie was just staring up at him smiling the entire time! She was so great and she looked so beautiful in her dress. Once again, my mom shows her coolness by saving my baby blessing dress and the blankets I used that day as well. Also, I wore a teeny tiny gold ring when I was blessed and Ellie did as well. It is so fun to see her wearing things I wore! And it made the day even more special.

Mom and I got Ellie ready together. I couldn't help but think of us doing the exact same thing the day she gets baptized and eventually the day she gets married! It makes me sad and happy at the same time to think about that! I'm glad my Dad took these pictures to capture the moment of Moms and Daughters.

Afterwards, I quickly changed into my church clothes and my Dad took some ADORABLE pictures of Ellie sitting on the couch waiting to go to church.

Both my Dad and Ellie look a little sad. There was a tiny accident when my Dad lifted her out of her carseat when we got home that left them both sad for a while afterwards...
Ellie's leg got in the way of Grandpa's temple tie tack. Let's just say the temple will leave a mark in your life! It wasn't that bad and healed very quickly!

We changed her out of her blessing dress so she wouldn't get it dirty. Maybe her daughter can wear it too :)

Its too bad my Mom didn't save her black and white dress for me to wear too :)
