a hairy tale

What happens when you haven't cut your hair for like 7.5 months? Answer: it gets pretttttty long and well, kinda gross. Gross because split ends start taking over and your hair is in a rut. I was in desperate need of a change but I didn't want to chop it off because I love long hair. Finally, a couple weeks ago, I asked Kathy, Marianne's SIL to fix it. She cut some layers and trimmed it a little and let me just say, she is amazing! She cut my hair super fast and it looks great! I forgot how amazing getting a hair cut feels and I was practically bouncing around the apartment after it was done. haha This is probably the first hair cut I've ever had where I've felt so happy immediately after.  Usually I'm in shock because my hair is shorter than I wanted or its different than I imagined.

Bam! There it is. It looks way better when Kathy styles it, but now she's moved away and I'll just have to figure it out on my own! 

AND, because I have pretty thick hair, blowing it dry is such a pain. Lately, I've been letting it air dry and life has been so much better! I just shower at night and let it dry before I head to bed and the next morning I only have to worry about straightening the ends. Apparently with this hair cut, something in my hair has changed. Instead of drying straight with the ends only a little bit crazy, it looks like this! 

This is my hair just air dried. AIR DRIED people! My whole life I've wanted, dreamed of, and wished for curly hair, I've wanted to just shower and have my hair magically go curly without any effort. Apparently, wishing for 21 years paid off! 

As for my other wishes, I wonder when my little sister will be arriving... Mom? :)
