feb{LOVE}ary

I just LOVE February! I mean, first off, its black history month and there's random acts of kindness, the Chinese New Year, groundhog day, boy scout day, Valentine's day, President's Day, and leap day(ok fine, every 4 years..). Then we hit the birthdays... George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, my friend Kristy, my cousin Melissa, Josh's cousin Jake, my Momma, my brother Cory, our nephew Tate, Josh, and mine. And, Josh & I celebrated our 6 month anniversary. Whew! All those celebrations packed into the shortest month of the year! Obviously we celebrated our little hearts out as much as we could.

On the 12th, Josh & I had a double party for our birthdays the next week.  Luckily, our friends Joelle and Tyler were in Provo for the BYU game, so they stopped by before they had to head back to Rexburg.  Brad, Marianne, Bryce & Sara came over as well as our friends Lance, Jon Matthew and Megan.  It was fun to see everyone. We played some games and ate some cupcakes.  After everyone left, Brad & Marianne stayed for the real party. ha We played Just Dance 2 for hours and hours.  It was so fun and a great way to work off those cupcakes.

On my birthday, I had a billion phone calls and txt messages from everyone, and Josh waited on me hand and foot. Nothing like a birthday to make you feel like the coolest person alive :) My parents sent me a birthday package which was full of fun cooking stuff.  Now I can cook and not have to worry about the spatula melting into the pan.

I also got some fun presents from my SILs and a new tennis skirt and cute red heels from my hubby.

Our Valentine's day consisted of a "heart attacked" apartment, tons of delicious food, beautiful flowers, and, well, school. Luckily we both had classes only in the morning, so after school we were able to celebrate.

For lunch right after school I made a sort of heart shaped BBQ chicken pizza. It was delicious! Later, Josh took me out to a fancy dinner so we dressed up.

While I was finishing getting ready, he slipped out of our apartment (ok well, he tried to slip out, but our door is a little tricky, so it wasn't quite a smooth escape) and came to "pick me up" for our date like he used to do.  Only this time, he had a pot of flowers instead of the regular ones that will probably die in a week.  And, I'm happy to report that the flowers are still alive and kicking today.
Josh's parents took us to St. George that weekend for a little birthday get away.  We just relaxed, ate a ton of food, and enjoyed the sunny weather for part of the weekend. They also got a tennis pro for us to play with so we could work on our skills. Based on my playing at the Idaho High School Tennis Tournament and being sort of a pro myself, I didn't think I had much to learn, but I decided there's always room for improvement, so I let Jason, the "pro" try to teach me a thing or two. Just kidding, he was amazing and made everything look so easy.  I definitely learned a lot about controlling the ball and my backhand is surprisingly better.  Josh had a one on one session with Jason later in the day and he loved it. It was definitely something we both enjoyed a lot and maybe someday we can do again.  We also got to watch Jake's (a cousin) baseball game and spend some time at their house hanging out and sitting in the jacuzzi.

Josh got two similar packages in the mail for his birthday from each of his sisters.  When he opened them, he got the biggest smile on his face! It was so funny he was laughing and super excited as he pulled out a nerf gun from each box. haha Apparently, he's been waiting for a nerf gun for 24 years and he finally got not just one, but TWO.

He quickly put them together and started shooting them all around the apartment losing bullets left and right.  I'm pretty sure they're behind the stove and under the fridge because he attacked me one night as I was making dinner.. Thanks so much Jen and Hea :) Actually they're a lot of fun and we've both had fun shooting them.

For our 6 month anniversary we went to this place with our friends Jon Matthew & Megan, who were also celebrating their 6 month anniversary. It was so delicious and we definitely ate way too much.

Now, can you see why I LOVE February?
